In January 2009 the team of School TB Clubs Project visited Government High School Katiala Sheikhan MB.Din for awareness campaign and establishing TB club. It is a story of my friend Attiq-ul-Rehman. He live in MB.Din city. It was a pleasant evening, every thing was regular and everyone busy in routine work. My friend meets me and he was looking tired and sad. I asked him, what happened; he said that he is feeling fever and pain in whole body, as he was telling me started coughing badly. He was also feeling weakness.
Waseem Hassan said, next day morning when I reached school, the TB Control Program team visited our school. The IHS School TB Clubs Project arranged a program on TB in our school and formed a School TB Club; I also participated in the program where I came to know about TB and the hospital where TB can be diagnosed. As my friend symptoms were like the one discussed, I guessed my friend might have TB”.
A evening when I reached attique ul rhman home, my friend was lying in the bed with coughing and high fever. I briefed him the whole story of the TB Club Project in school and the symptoms appearing in attique ul rehman were like tuberculosis. Her mother was worried on this, I assured her mother not to be worried because “TB is a curable disease”, then she satisfied.
I took attique ul rehman to government hospital, where he was diagnosed with TB. Doctor advised medication for eighth months under the supervision of his father but did not provide medicines, when I told them that the medicines for tuberculosis are available free of cost in government hospitals all over country then they provide us medicines.
My Friend was worried about disease but when I told him not to be worried because TB is a curable disease then he satisfied. My Friend having medicine regularly and he is now better after the medication of five months.
Attique ul rehman and his family are very thankful to Integrated Health Services for their efforts in Stopping TB.
